La Conner Real Estate

The La Conner area was originally  inhabited by the Swinomish Indians.  John Conner was one of the founders of La Conner and named the towne after his wife, L. A. Conner.  The town continued to thrive because of the fertility of the farmland, the great fishing, and the local timber industry.  The town has also become a haven for writers and artists that have found inspiration in the incredible natural beauty and easy lifestyle that La Conner has to offer.

Currently La Conner consists of a thriving local business community.  La Conner Properties range from downtown Condominiums  to beautiful Victorian homes that are on the National Register of Historic Homes.  The majority of La Conner homes and property are located in Shelter Bay.  Shelter Bay is a community of homes, many of those are on land leased from the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community.  The residents of Shelter Bay  enjoy Shelter Bay amenities which include, a marina with slips available for boat owners, club houses, a nine hole golf course,  private beaches, 2 swimming pools, tennis and tennis courts!  Many of Shelter Bay's homes are on the waterfront featuring their very own private docks.  Because the land is leased, Shelter Bay homes can be very affordable!
